Which release line the in-app updater follows.

Defaults to Stable. The channel picks the manifest URL, and that is the only thing separating the two lines — the version comparator cannot help, because a prerelease sorts above the stable it precedes (0.1.1-beta.1 > 0.1.0). A beta manifest reaching a stable install would be installed. See crate::updater::channel_endpoint.
